Would I accept the rose?

Hey friends! I'm sure most people who read this also see my Facebook, so this may not come as a surprise...I am applying for the Bachelor! Yep, that's right. I applied online and got a call asking to fill out another questionnaire and send a video. It has taken me a month to decide, but I am going for it! Why not? The worst thing to happen would be to hear nothing back, and if so, I've lost nothing. It sure doesn't hurt to try. Lately, I have been talking about wanting something to change, wanting something exciting, just anything new, so I figured this could be really fun and random. I may not make it all. I may make it and make a fool of myself. I may get the first impression rose...ha you never know. Soooo...I'm filming my application video tomorrow on the football field at State. I may be sweating out there, but I thought it would be creative! Wish me luck!

"Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?"

Water skiing at it's best!

For Memorial Day, I went with some friends to the river. My two friends (Meg & Jess) and I decided it'd be a great day to try skiing for the first time. Needless to say, it took us all several times to get the hang of it, but we all three made it up at least once! I was so proud of myself for trying! I've always had a mental block on anything in the water due to a scary tubing experience when I was younger. Here are a few pictures of my first skiing adventure!

What would I do without TV?

Isn't that sad? I just like TV. I always have. My family used to call me the walking TV Guide. I just tell myself that when I have kids running around, maybe I won't have time for TV, so why not enjoy that down time? Whatever works. Anyway, I am naturally a fan of Dancing with the Stars...I'm pretty sure I blogged once that there should be a Dancing with normal people, and I would sign up, NO DOUBT! Nicole and Derek won, which wasn't a big surprise. She's just AMAZING. Bachelorette started Monday, and I swore after Jake's gooberific season, I wouldn't watch another. However, I know one of the contestants, so of course I HAVE to watch! Mississippi's own, Ty Brown is on this season! I have met Ty, but I know his twin brothers much better. We were all at Northeast and State together. I've heard some rumors already about Ty's experience, but whatever, I'm gonna watch anyway. Go Ty! I can't write a TV blog and not mention GLEE....I am obsessed. I am convinced it's one of the greatest shows that I've ever seen. I love it and look forward to Tuesday nights every week!! Incredible. If you haven't watched it, you should try it, but you have to be open-minded. Pretty soon you'll be a "gleek" like me!

Tiny Dancer

Happy Monday! The weekend went by too fast, as usual, but I had a really fun weekend. Mom and Morgan came to town on Friday just in time for Jackson's ballgame. (Jackson is my older sister's boyfriend's son) We had a great time watching Jackson play, and his team is #1! We're so proud of him! Saturday Caroline had her first dance recital. She did such a good job, and of course, she made us laugh. At the end of the recital, all of the dancers were sitting on stage receiving their medals, and Caroline just happened to be sitting centerstage. Apparently she got pretty bored and decided to break out into some pushups! So funny!! She actually was really good at them too! A great way to end the night.

I Like Quotes

Lately, I've been into searching for good quotes. I thought I'd share a few.

-"We all need a place where we can go and feel over the rainbow..."
This is from an Amos Lee song called, "Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight". Such a great song, and who doesn't need a place to go where you feel over the rainbow? I don't even know where this place would be for me. I'm thinking it's somewhere on a beautiful beach with a cute boy beside me and a fruity drink in my hand...I don't know...

-"God match me with a good dancer."
Who knew Shakespeare would say something like this? I just love it, and I want the SAME thing! haha. At least I'd love to be with someone who likes to dance. :)

-"Trust your hopes, not your fears."
I actually have read this is a devotion before, and it was in my devotion last night. I think it is important to have hope. Romans 12:12 says, "Be joyful in hope..." No matter how tough times are or how discouraged we may become, we must hold on to our hope in the Lord and in His plan for our lives! How encouraging.

-"Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future."
Ahh...Audrey Hepburn. What a great outlook on life. I can certainly say that my past has made me who I am today! I am thankful for every person, every situation..

-"There's nothing fancy about the way I love you...It's as simple as the stars in the sky and the blue in the sea. There's nothing fancy about the way I love you, but it sure is fancy how you love me."
Dave Barnes, one of my favorite singers ever. How sweet are these lyrics. That's all.

Apples & Wine :)

My sister sent me this email, and I thought it was cute.

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

Now men...men are like fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with. :)

A real fine place to start...

Well hello friends! I decided to try getting back into the blogging world. I came across a friend's blog via facebook, and it was so cute and inspired me to have another go at it! It is so funny/strange to go back and read some of my old posts and remember what all was going on in my life. It is crazy how time flies by and how quickly things can change. Since I last wrote, I'd say some things have changed and gears have shifted..let's see here...

The athletic department is still my beloved workplace. That hasn't changed. Things are going well there although faces change there like crazy. I guess that's part of that line of work, but it does make me sad at times. I'll be there 4 years in June...wow. I've been a grown up for far too long now.

I'm a whopping 27 years old. Living the single life, and trying to remember to thank God for that daily. It can be tough to watch friends get married, have babies, and move on in life when I'm still at this stage. However, I am actually having the time of my life right now. I have the best friends in Starkville that I couldn't be more thankful for. They are so much fun, keep me laughing and encouraged, and even more..they are a great range in age (younger, same, and older!), and that keeps life so entertaining. God has done some great things in my life. It has just taken me a little while to realize that through the pain, there is healing. And man, I've really grown in my faith. My preacher asked me recently, "Have you ever been content with just you and God?" I had to stop and really think. My answer at the time was no. It is AMAZING what He will do in your life when you realize He's truly all you need.

I'll leave with posting a few pics of friends and my sweet little (getting bigger!) niece Caroline. Hope to keep this blogging thing up.
